So the beginning of a school year has always been an exciting time to me. New clothes, new classes, new school supplies, new goals, new people around you, sometimes a new school--it always brings newness, and to me, newness is a good thing and an exciting thing!
So Thursday morning, the first day of classes at UCA, I could not help but wake up in a joyful mood, wondering what new things this school year would bring. Of course there are the many new things going on at Antioch: New pastors, new activities, new visions and passions, new ministries, new members, new visitors, it's just all so exciting to see God's hand in every single move we make. So along with school being exciting, church has been exciting as well.
This morning as the service began to start and I was still greeting in the Atrium, I could hear David leading the service in How Great Thou Art, and I couldn't help but look around the building and think, how great is our God that he would provide such an amazing transitional period for us? How great is our God that he would provide for us in a time that is so exciting, but scary at the same time? How great is our God that he would give us the friendship and fellowship of such a close knit church family? I guess i've taken all of these things for granted in the past, but the lyrics of How Great Thou Art surrounded me this morning and allowed me to step back and thank God for his many blessings upon my church and my life.
I've never been a profound blogger, so you will learn quickly that when reading the things I write, you won't learn a lot or be challenged in any great way, but hopefully you'll receive a little bit of joy from my fascination with the simple things of life:)
